Kuramathi Resort :
Kuramathi has retained its natural beauty and is the only island resort to
offer a choice of three different places to stay. It is larger than most island
resorts-over one kilometre in length-and the three discreet locations each with
its own unique character and charm. They are all carefully laid out and spaced
so that you might never know the others existed. Wander the narrow winding paths
lined with thick foliage that snake their way across the island. A bus is also
available to shuttle you back and forth should you feel too tired to take a
short hike. Gaze up into the ancient banyan tree and spy the cranes nesting in
the topmost branches. Drift along sandy white beaches and dip your toes in the
water to cool off on a balmy hot day, or turn to catch the cooling sea breezes.
Only then might you chance upon one of the other resorts: the Cottage Club, Blue
Lagoon or Kuramathi Village.
After landing at the main jetty at Kuramathi Village, guests going on to stay at the Blue Lagoon will drive the whole length of the island, along a winding road shaded by tall palms, and bordered by thick shrubbery. There is a profusion of flowers all around you, and on arriving at the Blue Lagoon you will see the beautiful blue ocean stretching out in front of you.
Accommodation:
The Blue Lagoon offers a choice of either 20 water bungalows or 30 standard rooms, all fully air conditioned, and with tea and coffee making facilities, and piped music. There are also mini bars in all the rooms. The rooms are designed to be comfortable and relaxing, and we're sure that you'll enjoy every second of your stay.
Standard room
These rooms nestle among the vegetation like a row of little cottages, and are reached by a path bordered with flowers. All the bungalows overlook a stretch of beach, and the vegetation of this garden island, which surrounds these rooms, promises complete privacy. A little veranda outside the rooms, set with chairs and coffee table, provides a place to sit and take things easy between all the other activities on offer.
Water Bungalows
These spacious and luxurious wooden water bungalows, reached by a wooden walkway and built in units of two or four, are set out over the lagoon, and afford the most glorious views out to sea. On the ocean side, large French windows lead out on to a veranda with coffee table and deck chairs, and you only have to take a few steps down a wooden stairway to find yourself right in the sea.
